Poem: Inspiration

Inspiration

It comes in, at last
but I'm not ready for it
any longer, or not
just now, anyhow, not
in the moment that is
this moment.  I should be.
It would be better
if I were prepared
and wanted
to act on it
just because
it was the time,
but I trust too much
in my own way,
in waiting
and doing it
another time
and not now.
It came, I think,
it is here,
and that is good,
but it is not time.
I don't have
a good reason,
but I trust
in reasoning
I do not know.
