Poem: Simulacra?

Simulacra?

You think this
is the same thing
as that, but
they just resemble
each other
in certain ways,
and share properties
that you do not know
are immaterial
without being
in conjunction
with what is needed,
what is real.  The real
is what is missing
and you are not aware
of what that means,
cannot tell
what is genuine
because someone
has changed it all,
has re-labelled
the world, renamed
what was sitting
inside your mind
while you weren't
paying enough attention.
No, you tell me,
that didn't happen
and can't be,
but how certain you are
is just the way
it would feel,
isn't it?
