Poem: I do not know where it has gone

I do not know where it has gone

or where it intended to be
when it arrived there
or if that is the place
it was sent.  I do not know,
although I am the one
who began it all
and sent it along
and determined
where it would be,
allowed it to happen.
I can only say
I did what I thought was best,
that I worked hard
and hope my work
is enough, is not too little.
I think what is there
is more than I know it is,
or maybe that is just hope,
is just what I am seeking.
Even if that is true
it is best I believe.
It will never happen
if I cannot trust
that it might be that way.
