Poem: Begin and it is enough

Begin and it is enough

because there must be something
that follows.  It is impossible
for there to be nothing more
than just a beginning.
Anything that starts
has started,
must continue
until it ends,
even if the end
is not satisfying
or considered a completion,
even when it ceases.
A beginning cannot stand alone.
It makes no sense:
if nothing follows
it was not a beginning at all.
