Poem: I Must Not Wait

I Must Not Wait

when it begins, I know.
I waited last time
because I misunderstood
I did not know
what the limit was,
what would be
and would not be.
I thought it was fine
to take time
but it was foolish.
The opportunity
can vanish
so quick.  It can
be my chance,
but only if I am fast.
There is much more,
is luck and skill
and all the rest,
but that will not matter
if it is not done
when the time comes
but has not yet passed.
