Poem: It Needs to Be That Way

It Needs to Be That Way

but you do not understand
and are not the same
as those who did
what came before.
You cannot recall it,
were never part
of what was,
do not understand
any of what is desired,
but it cannot be explained,
will not be.  It is not possible,
that is what you are told,
that it must be done right
but you cannot be told
what that will mean.
Still, you must do it.
There are consequences
for each mistake.
The proper way
must be honored,
and this requires
it be done
without instruction.
