Poem: I Am Behind, Now

I Am Behind, Now

I just recalled that I am,
just remembered an obligation
that is waiting, is overdue
for my attention,
and I did not do it,
have not done it.
There is time, I suppose,
if I get to it right away,
but right now I am here
and I have this to do
and after?  No,
I have more, even then,
I can't do it so soon.
If I had remembered
it would be done by now.
I suppose that means nothing,
it being too late and all.
There isn't a way to correct it.
I can only wait a bit,
until it is possible again.
