Poem: What Shall We Do Instead?

What Shall We Do Instead?

I do not know,
do not have
any answer,
do not want
to have
an answer.
I want
to go back
and have it be
what it was,
have it be
the same
and not need
to change things,
but that cannot be,
I know that,
have to accept it,
which is fine.
I realize it is this way,
that it is different, now,
but the plan was made
and I don't want
to change it
so late.  I don't
have an alternative.
I need options
that I cannot imagine.
Maybe they exist,
but someone else
will need
to find them.
