Poem: It Is Within The Rules

It Is Within The Rules

but I do not know
if that is enough
to mean I should,
or if it is better
to leave things
as they are
for tonight.
I want to do it,
and the rules say
it is fine.
It can be said
they tell me
I should do it,
that it is better.
But even so,
I am not certain
I trust that.
It seems better
to let things be.
I do not know
what I will do,
not yet.
It feels like
I am too weak
not to give in
to my desire.
Of course,
the rules say
that is fine.
It may be
they are broken
if I do nothing,
or that may be
another excuse
I am imagining.
