Poem: It Is Not Safe Here

It Is Not Safe Here

It is not safe for me
to be stuck in this.
I am afraid of it,
cannot cope with it.
I don't know what to say
or how to deal with it.
I feel done,
and, also, undone.
I was overwhelmed
before all of this
and it brings more
than was there already,
makes it worse
in new ways
I had not imagined.
I am not well.
I do not know how to be.
I do not want
to continue
if this is what must be.
I do not want to.
It scares me
to not have a way forward,
to not have anything I can do
except more
of what will make it worse.
