Poem: An Escalation

An Escalation

Tell me now
what you have done,
has what we discussed
been enacted
or did you do nothing?
I want to know
that it was done,
that you did as discussed.
It is important:
I received word
things are moving
in the wrong direction
and I am not alright with it.
I need to know
you did these things,
I need to know
it will be made better.
I do not want to hear
it cannot be helped
or that it is this way
and I can do nothing.
I enlisted your help
to avoid those possibilities,
I asked you to act
before things escalated.
Did you?  What can be done?
What will be done, now?
I need a way forward
that does not allow this,
I need to know
you did not just wait,
that it is already
taken care of.
