Poem: I Do Not Think It Will Go Well

I Do Not Think It Will Go Well

She will choose
and will say it must be one way
and it will be wrong,
will not be at all right,
but she will insist I accept it,
insist I agree and say it is good
and be glad for what is wrong
and what still hurts me
and makes worse the hurt that is already.
She wants to be right and have it be good,
that is what she will say, but what she means
is it must be called right, must be good,
must be accepted as perfect,
even when it is more of the poison.
