Poem: It Will Not Be Returned,

It Will Not Be Returned,

There will be
nothing that comes
from reaching out,

only the silence,
the knowledge of it,
the certainty.

It is not the same
as the silence
that was before,

not any longer,
no.  It is not the same
after this:

I know
and you know,
and still, silence.
