Poem: You Will Speak

You Will Speak

of wanting better,
of wanting
to do and make,
of changing.
It is in your words,
is at the ready,
the tongue
holds those shapes,
keeps them warm,
prepared.
You will speak them,
will say it
and swear it is so,
is what is meant,
is what you want to do,
is the way forward,
and I think it is meant,
is not only said,
is not just words.
It is not that you are lying,
it is that you do not know
what it would mean
to do as you say.
