Poem: What Will Have Been

What Will Have Been

Beginning again
is not the fun way,
but is the way
it must be
at those times
when an end
has come too soon,
and nothing else
is after it,
but later,
isn't so, later,
when it was over
and another start
was all there was
how it was all one,
how it came to be
part of the whole.
Do not worry now,
there is enougu
with the rest,
with the wants
of any moment
contained here, now,
that is all true,
is how it is and will be,
but it will be recalled
by other moments
that cannot be known,
but have shapes
that can be guessed,
have ways of knowing
that come to be.
It is starting,
but that is not to say
things have ended,
or if they have
that ending itself
is only a thing
to be known
for now.
Later, it never was.
