Poetry: Now That I Am Ready

Now That I Am Ready

What is within has risen,
has reached the surface
so it may be accessed.

It has taken years,
an inner distillation,
percolation, filtration

of what was waiting,
what had been
but was not ready,

and now: it is ripe,
can be accessed,
is here, ready, at last,

but it is so long,
too long to continue
from where I was,

and I know only
the ancient path
that is now barred.
