Poem: What Is Gone

What Is Gone

I had so much
that I was concerned about
today, so many things
that took their place
in line, troubles
conundrums, serious concerns
and petty gripes, and the holidays,
the holy days that have begun,
had me wanting
to be free of it,
to release my fears,
at least tonight
to be without them,
but the news,
it came at dinner
just minutes after
we had said
Mourners Kaddish
and ended the service.
