Poem: Something Has Come to Nest Inside

Something Has Come to Nest Inside

It would not
have taken up
this perch
were it not
appropriate,
were the heart
not already hollow,
dried out, disused.
Do not complain
that what has come,
has gone inside
and grows there,
is the cause:
it grows there
because this place
was prepared for it.
