Poem: What Has Changed

What Has Changed

Some of the places
that you have gone
are not there any longer,
and some remain
but would not seem
at all the same,
and others are the same
but still feel different,
the surface all that retains
that familiarity.  Some
may be the same
but you will not know,
will be certain
it has changed.
It is not a matter
of what has changed
that you can notice,
it is so many years,
it may be your memories
have changed, or
it may be more,
may be how you see
or feel.  It may be different,
but it may be you instead.
