Poem: Doing Was Not Enough

Doing Was Not Enough

so it seemed reasonable
to attempt not doing,
since it was possible
that was appropriate
and was the other option
besides continuing to do,

but not doing did nothing,
which is unsurprising
since it is, indeed,
doing nothing, but
it had seemed worth trying,
given the circumstances.

Now, though, what was left
if both doing and not doing
did not work, unless
there was some way
to not do while doing
or do while not doing,

but how could that be,
though it seemed all
that could be left,
what else was there
besides doing and not doing?
What else but both at once?
