Poem: You Want to Stay Awake

You Want to Stay Awake

so we may go to bed
together, when I am done
with my writing tonight.

I know you mean
it as a form of support,
that you endorse my efforts,
see the value of my dedication,
but I cannot help feeling
guilty that you are waiting.
What you intend one way
can easily disrupt me.
