Poem: He Is So Glad to Be Praised

He Is So Glad to Be Praised

called intelligent,
charming, worthy,
he does not notice
the qualities
of his complimenters,
does not see
that they lack
each quality they
bestow, are not
even fit to notice these,
nor does he ask,
not even to himself,
why they want
to charm him so.
