Poem: What Was Entrusted to You

What Was Entrusted to You

was the care of a family legacy,
one that had been handed to you
by your parents, as it had been
passed to them.  Now, you wish
to be done with it, say it will be
impossible to keep, but you
were entrusted with protecting
this, with making certain
it would remain for future
generations of your family.
If it cannot be saved for them,
that is your failure.  Your parents
trusted you, but they are dead,
only the children will be denied it.
