Poem:Regression

Regression

They said it would be again
like it was before, talking
about all the benefits
of the old ways, the ways
that had been abandoned
for the new ways, though
they did not mention
why it was things
had changed, forgot
so much of what it had
once been like, of course
they wanted it to be that
way, the way they remember,
though they know
it never truly was.
