Poem: Here Now

Here Now

None of it is the way
it was said it would be,
so many mishaps, disasters
falling on us daily,
but we made it through
at least this far, have come
past so much, now we must
do the hard part to build
a life, to let go of pain
inflicted by the journey
to this place, so we feel
the freedom of having a home.
