Chapter Three Addendum
So, as I mentioned, I was pretty tired last night and it turns out that I had neglected to read the last bit of the chapter. In it, Le Guin goes on to discuss paragraph structure, stating that it should be the next topic, logically, but would require far too long an exercise to be practicable. She chides against the editorial aesthetic that says paragraphs must be of a certain length and suggests that longer paragraphs have a significant place in the work of serious writers (her invocation of Saramago in an earlier exercise, and a statement that she made saying he was one of the few writers she considered a contemporary whom she was still learning from, seem to offer some further thoughts on this). It is not a particularly in depth discussion, and offers, primarily, considerations in lieu of advice, but I wanted to include it here, if only to be thorough in my efforts.
