Poem: You want solid and certain

You want solid and certain

and I cannot be persuaded
to provide it, am certain
it is not proper or right or good
or an acceptable way for me.
I have concerns.  It may be
you think it is fine.
I do not want to explain
the nature of my morality.
I wonder if that itself
would be an imposition,
would create a wound.
I haven't the right
to take such risks
even if you are begging me.
