Poem: That is your way

That is your way

and it is good, I know,
I can recognize that,
but it is not my way.
I do not have patience
or the attention for it.
I have other qualities
which are more pronounced.
I rely on what I do well.
The ends are the same, I hope.
I do not know how to be
the same as you,
to do things by the rules
I know you follow.
It is not that this is easier
or has less rigor.
It is different.
I do not know
if you can understand that.
It might be best
to hide them and pretend
the differences do not exist.
