Poem: I don't remember enough

I don't remember enough

only the outlines of memories
and no detail.  It is waiting,
I think.  Something will be there,
with a bit of help
something will come.
I do not know why
I am at a loss.
It surprises me,
but we never recall
just how much of life
we have already forgotten
