Poem: The Warnings Were Given

The Warnings Were Given

but no one would hear it
as anything true.  It was nothing,
they said.  It was just to be ignored.
And now?  It is done
and the disaster has come
and cannot be changed
and they say it is my fault
because I was the one
who offered the warning.
