Poem: I Remembered Him as Kind

I Remembered Him as Kind

as a good doctor,
and he was,
saved my brother's life
when he was a baby,
probably save mine, too,
over the years.  He was a good doctor,
but today I remembered(why today?)
the time he told me
I was far too fat,
that I needed to lose weight.
"No one will want to hire you
if you are fat like this
when you grow up."
I was probably ten, or maybe twelve.
