Poem: It was a mistake

It was a mistake

I want to fix it,
to take it back
or make it better,
but I cannot.
I know that.
I know it
has happened
and I am
to blame.
I hope
you can accept
my forgiveness,
that I can
express it
and make right.
I do not know
if that is possible.
I can understand it,
though I do not
agree, do not think
it is deserved.
It was a mistake.
I did not mean
to insult you so.
