Poem: I do not know which way

I do not know which way

it will be or if it is
already decided or still
can change, and I know
I would like to be part
of making choices,
of taking action
and making plans
and whatever else it is,
not just avoiding or being told
or doing nothing until
something(?).   I can say
it is better or worse
and point out
my reasons.
I don't have
any more than that,
not in the moment, anyhow.
I want to be careful,
but, also, I want
it not to matter.
