Poem: I do not know if you will notice

I do not know if you will notice

and even if you do
will you understand?  I think you would.
You might.  I can say that
with certainty, but
only because
it is an uncertain thing to say.
I hope you won't even know,
won't be aware at all.
It wasn't intended for you,
but I know you might find it
and it might be clear
just what is underneath.
I hope that does not happen.
It is not my intention,
it is just a risk
I chose to accept,
though I regret it, I think,
at least for the moment.
