Poem: There is a difference

There is a difference

in what I tell them,
though: it is true.
I speak of what is impossible
as the answer I prefer,
of what cannot be
as the only way forward.
I know I contradict,
I demand, I complain
about what is needed
when it cannot be
the way I say it must.
All that is true.
I don't know
how to make it better,
how to change that.
I have said before
the change
must change things.
It can't just be
thinking other thoughts
in the same situations.
