Poem: I was not waiting

I was not waiting

and it was not my place
to wait: I did not
have an obligation
to be ready.  It was
your need, and I
am not the one
who must meet it.
It was nothing to me.
I did not speak
of what I wanted
or my desires.
I did not go
against you
or make trouble.
I would have.
I felt it within me,
but I did not loose it.
Perhaps, I should have
but I am a coward at times.
