Poem: The New Neighbor Cut Down All The Bushes Between Our Yards

The New Neighbor Cut Down All The Bushes Between Our Yards

She did not ask
or even warn
or say a thing,
but she thinks
it is fine.
She came up today
and made it clear
she is glad
we approve,
thinks it is much better.
I should have said more,
told her the truth,
told her it is terrible,
that it is not alright.
I did not say any of it,
told her nothing much.
I didn't feel comfortable
confronting her about it.
It bothers me
that she thinks
it is alright.
I should have told her,
but I was not prepared.
One day I will speak up.
I am sure that it is coming.
It was not today,
but it is coming.
