Poem: Convinced

Convinced

I knew it would be possible
and that it would be required,
that even if we waited
it would have to be done.
It annoyed you when I asked,
when I suggested trying,
but I found a way to convince you,
to show it could be done
and you allowed it.
In truth, I did nothing
to convince you,
I just allowed you
to be convinced
by the one you trust.
I am not trusted,
I know that.  I was right,
but it would not matter
if I had only argued myself.
It took his involvement.
Once he was in agreement,
it was the right thing.
I am certain you will tell me
that is not correct.
He will probably agree, too,
and make you even more certain.
