Poem: They Remembered Us

They Remembered Us

though we have not been there
in quite a while.  I was surprised
they welcomed us so
after all this time.
They were kind
but I wonder
what it is
that they recall.
I hope it is good,
that they think
kind thoughts
when we arrive.
I do not know
what I might have done
to be so memorable
but I am paranoid
it may not be good.
