Poem: There Are Days When I Do Not Check

There Are Days When I Do Not Check

days when I trick myself
into thinking it is all done
while more is waiting.
Often, I do not notice
until it is the next day.
I always make it up, though.
Even if it is late,
I do make it up.
I think that is enough.
The only one watching me
is also me, so I am the only one
who could judge it
as a failing.  I suppose
I should just do better
about checking
to avoid the matter altogether.
