Poem: My Resistance Has Eroded

My Resistance Has Eroded

and I am slipping back.
No, that is a lie.
I chose this,
chose to fail.
I said it would be fine,
convinced myself
at each chance.
I was fine, was doing better.
It was not easy,
but I did not need to succumb.
I let myself do it.
It is best I admit that.
If it happened on its own
I would not have a chance.
I must remember
it is my control,
I allowed this.
