Poem: They Will Go

They Will Go

and I will not join,
that is the plan,
for them to go
without me.
But it is good,
I am part
of the plan,
am alright with it.
I don't need to be there.
They will go.
If she agrees
they will go.
I don't know
if she will understand
that it is still
about the same things,
about me, about us.
My not being there
is not changing that.
It is only
that she is so cruel
when I am in the room,
that she might open her eyes
if they discuss it
when I am not present.
