Poem: That Things Have Changed

That Things Have Changed

isn't surprising at all,
but you act as though
it was not possible
to expect anything
being different,
as if your promise
was predicated
on those circumstances.
The world changes.
The point of a promise
is that it remains true.
If it is not true now,
it is another lie,
is more, adds more,
makes worse
what has been done.
You will tell me
I am unfair.
Asking you
to do as you promised
makes me unfair.
