A Writer's Notebook, Day One-Thousand-Four-Hundred-And-Ninety-Five

I still need to finish work on this short story, but I am getting quite buzzed about the idea I have for this novel.  It is not entirely clear to me just how to write it, but I am starting to get a sense of the structure and where I want to begin, and there are certain moments that are coming to mind already.  I have a sense of the character and of the way it might work in general, and even some thoughts about where it may be leading as a whole.  The truth is that the plot for this book is rather formulaic by design.  I don't think that is a problem, really it might be an attribute in this case, as it is a sort of classic story just applied to a specific scenario in order to make comments on aspects of the contemporary world.  I want to make sure I get the tone right, more than anything.  At the moment, though, more than anything I just want to figure out how the whole story should begin.  Once I have a clear sense of the starting point, I think most of the rest will fall into place behind it.
