Poem: I Did Not Worry

I Did Not Worry

but I wonder
if you think
I should have
been worrying.
The way you talked
when you called
I thought
you were upset
I had not been worrying,
had not called you
to be certain
you were fine,
even though
I saw you
just yesterday
and you were fine
and nothing
had happened
to suggest otherwise.
I do not know
why I should be
worrying so much
about your welfare.
Is something wrong
that you won't say
but you want me
to know anyhow?
What is worse,
I know if I called
each day
with concern
you would be mad
and say
I was too invasive.
