Poem: "Does It Bother You," She Asks

"Does It Bother You," She Asks

I say that I do not know
if it bothers me,
and right now
I do not need to know,
can think of it
as long off and away,
though she is probably right
and it will come sooner,
will come so quick
we don't have time
to think on it later,
must prepare and know
what it will be,
but I do not want to know,
or do not want to need to know,
do not want to admit
what I already know
about my feelings.
