A Writer's Notebook, Day One-Thousand-Four-Hundred-And-Fifty-Five

I do think that this story is going to have a very different and kind of out of left-field ending at this point.  I kind of think that the main character is going to rebel against me in a certain way, and I am totally into it, really.  I mean, I think this character's response to events is going to kind of break the story in a way, because I have pushed them too far.  The events in the story have been strange and have warped their reality to a point where they can't understand any longer.  It wasn't what I expected or planned, as much as I had any real plan for the story, and I am kind of excited to find that the character is sort of pushing against me in this way.  I think it might actually take this story in a very exciting direction, maybe even turn into something quite different and maybe in line with certain ideas I have had in mind but been uncertain how to work with.  Maybe it won't work, of course, and will just seem to be a meandering waste, but I have hope it might actually become something very special instead.  Of course, the only way to know is to get through to the end of writing it.
