Poem: My Mind Is Rattling about

My Mind Is Rattling about

rolling across the floor of my skull tonight
and I want to find a way to catch it
and place it back where it should be, where it was before,
where it seems safer, though I do wonder:
maybe it wants this, is learning things, growing.
I wonder what it might want.  It may be
it jumped down for a reason,
or it may be an accident,
a mistake.  It might be better
to let it be as it is or, is it?
I do not know, cannot know.
I wish my brain would tell offer a clear answer.
