Poem: I Was Hoping It Would Happen

I Was Hoping It Would Happen

so I watched, and it did not happen,
and I decided not to watch,
because it was annoying
to keep watching and waiting
when it never would happen,
so I did not watch and wait,
and then it did happen
but I was not paying any attention,
was spending my focus elseware
and never notice at all
until it was too late
and then it did not matter at all,
I had not noticed
when it would have mattered,
and it did not happen again,
so I stopped watching close,
I have not been watching.
I expect I might already have missed
it happening again.
