Poem: I Cannot Find It

I Cannot Find It

though I am certain
where it was
when I had it,
the last time
that I am certain
I had it, but now:
it is not there,
is not anyplace
I have looked.
It must be here,
it must be,
I am certain
it must be here.
I would look more
but it is better
to be certain
it is still here,
even if I do not know
the exact location.
I do not wish for certainty
if it is the certainty of its loss.
